This large orchid (40-60cm) thrives in warm 24-32°C conditions with high humidity (60-80%), performing best when grown bare-root in slatted baskets to accommodate its extensive aerial roots. Water daily during active growth, allowing roots to dry slightly between soakings. The #17 clone designation indicates superior floral form and colour intensity, making this a rare collector’s item. Provide very bright light (4,000-6,000 lux) to enhance its distinctive checkered pattern, with flowers appearing multiple times yearly under optimal care.
