Orchid not in bloom.
The Grammatophyllum speciosum alba is the exceptionally rare white form of the world's largest orchid species, producing 2-3m flower spikes with up to 100 creamy white blooms. This colossal plant requires tropical conditions (25-35°C year-round) and enormous space (mature clumps reach 5m across), making it suitable only for large greenhouses or outdoor tropical gardens. The alba variety is a true trophy specimen, seldom seen even in botanical collections. Grow mounted on substantial trees or in oversized baskets with minimal medium, providing very bright light and heavy fertilisation during growth periods. While challenging to cultivate, its spectacular floral displays and legendary status make it the ultimate prize for serious collectors.
