The Cattleya Yuan Dung Sweet 'Dragon Fruit' is a stunning Taiwanese hybrid, registered as a cross between C. Monte Elegante and C. Yen Redface . It produces ~6-8cm fragrant purple flowers with a contrasting lip, blooming in spring and summer . The 'Dragon Fruit' clone received a prestigious SM (Silver Medal) award from the Taiwan Orchid Growers Association (TOGA) in July 2024 . Some clones exhibit a unique peloric mutation and spotted petals . This orchid is intermediate in difficulty because it needs bright indirect light (3,000-4,000 lux), a distinct wet/dry cycle (water when medium is nearly dry), and good air circulation . Maintain 50-70% humidity and fertilise during active growth . The flowers are strongly fragrant and typically last 15-20 days .
