Orchid not in bloom.
Pot 3.0"
The Bulbophyllum singulare is one of the orchid world's most bizarre species, featuring translucent 4-5cm flowers with a unique hinged lip mechanism designed for bat pollination. Native to New Guinea's cloud forests, this advanced-level orchid demands cool 20-25°C (68-77°F) days with 15-18°C (59-64°F) nights and extremely high humidity (80-90%) - best achieved in a terrarium with computer-controlled systems. Grow mounted vertically on cork slabs with living sphagnum moss, maintaining constant moisture without waterlogging. The spring blooms emit a powerful rotting fruit odor for just 3-5 days, attracting fly pollinators in nature. Provide very low light (800-1,200 lux) and exceptional air movement to prevent fungal issues. While challenging, its otherworldly flowers make it a prized specimen for serious collectors.
These care guidelines are based on general information and may need adjustments based on your specific growing conditions and the needs of your individual plant.
