The Lc. Hwa Yuan Angel 'Little Beauty' (also known as 'Little Beautiful', Chinese: 小美人) is a compact miniature Cattleya hybrid from Taiwanese breeding. Registered by C.H. Hsieh in 1996, this cross of C. Haw Yuan Angel and C. Melody Fair produces 5.5cm waxy flowers with a dense, multi-flowered texture. It is not fragrant. This hybrid is considered beginner to intermediate in difficulty — its compact size (15–40cm) makes it manageable, though it does require bright light year-round and careful watering. Grow in bark or bark+sphagnum mix with good drainage, maintaining 23–28°C (73–82°F) summer days and 16–20°C (61–68°F) winter temperatures. Water abundantly in summer and moderately in winter, allowing the medium to dry between waterings. High humidity (70–80%) with good air circulation is preferred. Adolescent plants typically take 12–18 months to reach flowering size. This mini Cattleya is a great choice for small-space growers wanting something a little different from the standard Phalaenopsis.
