The Phalaenopsis I-Hsin Claude (peloric form) is a rare Taiwanese hybrid where the lip mutates to resemble petals, creating 6-8cm pink flowers with symmetrical petal-like structures instead of a normal lip. Thriving in stable 18-26°C temperatures and medium light (1,500-2,500 lux), this medium-sized orchid (30-40cm) blooms best when given consistent moisture in sphagnum or bark mix. The peloric mutation - while visually striking - is genetically unstable, making mericlone propagation essential to preserve its unique form. Water only when roots turn silvery, and avoid temperature fluctuations during spike development. Its limited commercial availability (due to mutation instability) makes it a prized specimen for collectors of unusual floral morphologies.
