The Phalaenopsis Sogo Red Star (peloric - 2 eyes) is a Taiwanese-bred marvel, featuring 6-8cm deep red flowers with two distinct peloric lip mutations per bloom - a genetic rarity called "2 eyes". Thriving in stable 18-26°C temperatures, this medium-sized orchid requires medium light (1,500-2,500 lux) to maintain its vibrant colouration while preventing stress-induced reversion. The peloric mutation causes lip tissue to develop as petals, creating a mesmerising doubled "eye" pattern. As a trophy-status specimen, it's prized by collectors for both its visual impact and genetic uniqueness. Grow in sphagnum or fine bark, watering only when roots silver, and provide excellent airflow to prevent moisture-related issues in its dense floral displays.
