The Phalaenopsis javanica × minus is a rare inter-species hybrid combining two endangered Indonesian orchids, producing 2-3cm barred yellow flowers on an 8-12cm plant. Thriving in stable 22-28°C temperatures and high humidity (70-85%), this miniature epiphyte performs best mounted in terrariums with gentle airflow. Unlike its pure species parents, this hybrid shows increased adaptability while maintaining the characteristic transverse red-brown bars and delicate citrus fragrance. Water with rainwater when the moss or bark surface begins to dry, and provide dappled light (1,000-1,500 lux) to prevent leaf scorch. With both parent species critically endangered in the wild, this hybrid represents an important conservation-focused cultivation opportunity for serious growers.
