The Phalaenopsis Tiannong Golden Vivien is a cheerful Taiwanese hybrid producing 6-8cm bright golden-yellow flowers with a delicate pink lip and light sweet scent. Just as easy to grow as standard white Phalaenopsis, this medium-sized orchid (25-35cm) thrives in 18-28°C temperatures and normal household humidity (50-70%). For the best golden colour, place it in an east or west-facing window (1,500-2,500 lux) – too little light produces pale, greenish blooms. Water when the thick aerial roots turn silvery, using sphagnum or bark mix. While uncommon outside Asia, its vibrant colour and beginner-friendly nature make it a delightful addition to any collection.
