It is considered intermediate in difficulty because the species has a reputation for being naturally tricky to grow and must be mounted on cork or tree fern — it resents potting . This species prefers brighter light and cooler temperatures than most Phalaenopsis, making it distinct from the common moth orchid . Grow it mounted under bright indirect light with high humidity and good air movement, especially in warm conditions . It can tolerate brief drying if humidity remains high, and like many miniature orchids, may occasionally produce keikis off the primary growth .
