Pot 3.0"
The Catasetum Orchidglade 'Jack of Diamonds' is a dramatic hybrid prized for its 5-7cm burgundy-red flowers that literally fire pollen when touched. Thriving in hot 26-32°C summer temperatures, this large orchid demands daily flooding during growth followed by complete winter dryness (3-4 months at 15-18°C). Grow in coarse bark mix under intense light (5,000-7,000 lux) to encourage male blooms with vibrant yellow lip markings. The plant's cinnamon fragrance and explosive pollination mechanism make it a fascinating specimen, while its limited mericlone availability appeals to serious collectors. Water only when new roots appear in spring, and provide high-phosphorus fertiliser during spike development for best colour.
