Orchid not in bloom.

Pot 2.5"

The Chiloschista viridiflava is an extraordinary leafless orchid where photosynthesis occurs entirely in its green photosynthetic roots. This trophy-status species demands advanced care: constant 80-95% humidity achievable only in sealed terrariums, bare-root mounting on untreated cork, and daily misting with rainwater. Native to Southeast Asian forests, it thrives in 22-30°C temperatures and bright filtered light (3,000-4,000 lux). Its 1-1.5cm greenish-yellow flowers with red spotting appear in spring, emitting a faint honey fragrance. While extremely challenging to cultivate outside specialised setups, its unique morphology makes it a prized specimen for serious collectors.
