This trophy-status plant demands ultra-high humidity (85-95%) in sealed terrariums with minimal light (500-800 lux) to maintain leaf colour. Grow surface-mounted on living sphagnum moss, keeping temperatures 20-25°C in summer with a slight winter cooldown. Unlike typical jewel orchids, this variety's thick rhizomes store water for drought resilience, though it should never dry completely. With fewer than three commercial sources worldwide, it represents the pinnacle of foliage orchid collecting, though its small white autumn flowers are secondary to the spectacular leaves.
