The Anoectochilus roxburghii is a trophy-status jewel orchid prized for its exquisite velvet black leaves with intricate gold and pink venation that shimmer in low light. Native to Himalayan cloud forests, this challenging species demands precise conditions: constant 18-24°C temperatures, extremely high humidity (80-90%), and very low light (300-500 lux). Grow exclusively in living sphagnum moss within sealed terrariums, watering only with distilled or rainwater to prevent leaf damage from minerals. While its small white autumn flowers are modest, the year-round metallic foliage display makes this one of the most sought-after orchids for serious collectors. Success requires mimicking its natural forest floor habitat with perfect drainage and acidic conditions.
Please note that these care instructions are based on general guidelines for Macradenia multiflora and may need adjustments based on your specific growing conditions and observations of your plant's health and behavior.
