The Rhynchostylis gigantea White × Rhynchostylis gigantea Red is a rare inter-varietal hybrid combining the genetics of two prized colour forms. This vigorous large orchid (50-70cm) produces 25-35cm flower spikes in variable pink blends with intricate spotting, emitting an intense jasmine-citrus fragrance that peaks at night. Thriving in warm 24-32°C temperatures with high humidity (70-85%), it performs best when grown bare-root mounted or in slatted baskets to accommodate its extensive aerial roots. Water daily in summer (reduced in winter) and provide bright filtered light (3,500-5,000 lux). Its genetic variability makes each seedling unique, appealing to collectors seeking one-of-a-kind specimens.
