The Rhynchostylis gigantea var. alba × sib is a rare white form of the iconic "fox tail" orchid, producing 25-35cm cascading spikes of pristine white flowers with delicate green throats. This tropical giant thrives in consistent warmth (24-32°C/75-90°F) with high humidity (70-85%), demanding daily watering in summer (reduced in winter) when grown bare-root mounted on cedar plaques. Provide bright filtered light (3,000-4,500 lux) - the thick, arching leaves should maintain a light green color. Its intoxicating jasmine-honey fragrance peaks at night during winter blooms, with flowers lasting an exceptional 4-6 weeks. While challenging for beginners due to its size (40-60cm leaf span) and humidity needs, its spectacular floral displays and heady perfume make it a prized specimen for collectors.
